Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training (200 hr RYT)

‘Deepen your practice and discover the voice to lead and inspire’

Whether you desire to lead and teach others or simply seek a deeper connection to your own practice, this 200-hour Yagoy Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training will provide you with powerful tools to inspire yourself and others. From day one we will guide you in deepening your practice and honing your skills to become a confident and empowering teacher.

Becoming a source of inspiration begins with your own personal Yoga practice. A foundation of commitment and focus on your Yoga mat will provide you with the insight to break through any unhelpful patterns. Be prepared to expand your mental and physical boundaries through this journey.

The training will begin with a Masterclass led by teachers and speakers from various yogic traditions. In the mornings, we will begin with 75 minutes of asana, pranayama, and meditation. You will observe your own practice and learn how to apply this to become an effective teacher. We will study alignment principles, functional anatomy, Yoga philosophy, the art of creative and intelligent sequencing, and effective cueing.

Teaching Faculty

This Teacher Training is led by Liisa Russmann and Anne Vida Ikeda. They are honoured and excited to guide you through this process. Also, several guest teachers with their own expertise will teach themed masterclasses over the course of the training.

Liisa Russmann

Liisa came to yoga from stressful and demanding jobs, and before she knew it, found herself in yoga workshops, courses and trainings feeling more and more alive from these experiences and connections, than ever before. To Liisa it’s all about being free to be yourself and she is passionate about passing this feeling on to others using yoga as the vehicle for transformation; both physically and emotionally.

A strong believer and daily practitioner in not letting fears be bigger than dreams, she translates her life lessons into yoga classes. Her classes and teachings are a fusion of intelligent and playful sequencing, anatomical awareness and philosophical depth that takes students into their bodies, home to themselves. Liisa believes in continual growth and staying inspired as a teacher. She regularly trains with Tiffany Cruikshank, Kathryn Budig, Jason Crandell and Katy Appleton. She was trained in Sydney, Australia with Power Living and has since been passionately sharing her teachings in Sydney and Amsterdam.

Anne Vida Ikeda

Anne initially began practicing yoga to relieve stress and balance her hectic professional life back home in Montreal. She never imagined it would be the start of a journey that would impact every facet of her life. Anne has studied Vinyasa flow with the School of Sacred Arts in Bali. She as also studied Yin yoga with Tina Nance in Bali and Anat Geiger in Amsterdam. As a lifelong yoga student, she continues to study and to broaden her scope she is also trained in Ayurveda and yogic therapy with Sivananda yoga, as well as Thai yoga massage.

Inspired by Ayurveda & Traditional Chinese Medicine theories, and with a nourishing, calming and light-spirited touch, Anne leads students into practices that are genuine and empowering. Her aim is to create a supportive environment for people to explore their own bodies & minds and to discover a sense of liberation and creativity. In the exploration of yoga and meditation, Anne is convinced that accepting the challenges of life requires an open heart, flexibility of mind and keen awareness. With this approach, she shares her sessions as a journey to mindful living.

You should have a consistent, dedicated yoga practice and a strong desire to learn and explore the modern teachings of yoga. Within this Teacher Training, you are required to practice vinyasa yoga at least once a week and at least once a month with Anne or Liisa. Expect to work hard, explore your possibilities as a teacher, and come away with a deep awareness of who you are.

While each student studies at their own pace, we find that most will spend an average of two hours per week on required reading and writing assignments during the training.

When all criteria have been met, you will receive a 200hrs certificate that is registered under Yoga Alliance: this means that you will be able to use the RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) credential for your future teachings, after registering with Yoga Alliance.

Here’s what our graduates have to say:

I really enjoyed how each of you brought in your personality in teaching, but also in anatomy and philosophy. When the journey started, I wasn’t really sure I was ready and everything seemed quite impossible, like a huge mountain to climb. But as in hiking, with small steps and a constant pace, every top can be reached :). Thanks for walking with us, and for providing guidance and security when needed.

Thanks again for everything. I am so happy I took this training with the two of you, it was an absolute joy.

I am looking back at what an amazing journey this has been. Feeling so grateful for this experience and I am determined to continue on it.

The entire course learnings and yoga-community development was a wonderful experience and I am feeling so grateful for all that it brought me – both during the course and now what lies before me in my yoga future (as well as personal development / life). I am very excited to continue my yoga journey with this foundation under my belt.

What started as a curiosity to learn more about the physical effect of Yoga on my body, turned into an exploration of living a spiritual life, free of attachment to the physical world, desires, and outcomes — a priceless lesson that will be with me for the rest of my life. I cannot express with words the amount of gratitude and appreciation that I have (and will continue to have) for the two of you as teachers, mentors.
