You are the face of Yagoy to the students and teachers. The Yagoy community is growing everyday so we are looking for people loving, hospitality driven people that are experienced multitaskers and feel home at Yagoy as our hosting team!

Yagoy is an organically fast growing yoga studio in Amsterdam West and in the Pijp. We represent Yoga Your Way: a modern day interpretation and implementation of ancient knowledge of the body and the mind.

Yoga Your Way is a remix of the traditional styles of yoga, customised to fit different wishes and needs of our urban lifestyle. Young and old, beginners and experienced people; Yoga Your Way is Accessible, Applicable and Affordable, and it brings us together, as a family.

These 3 A’s also define our culture. The 100+ classes offered every week are managed by a small and very efficient team that likes to get things done and above all enjoys it when more people can do yoga!

Job Description

Central role
o A visit to Yagoy starts and ends with YOU!
o When students come to Yagoy you make everybody feel comfortable like home: keep laughter and love for yoga alive in the space. Yagoy is the moment to lay back, not to stress and frown.
o Connect to our students and guide them through the studio, our cafe (Club Yagoy), our Massage studio, workshop or Teacher Training and other spaces, in the most personal possible way: you know which offering suits which students best.
o You effortlessly switch between serving coffee in our cafe, talking to a teacher, setting up a yoga room, checking in a class and take care of the needed admin.
o Keep your eyes and ears open: catch direct feedback and idea’s from students and teachers and spot issues before they occur.
o Communicate your findings with the rest of the team so we can make things better!

Hospitality & Exposure
o Turn all the negative into the positive… yes! Exactly that. There is a smile that can be shared in any situation. Yoga is all about that 🙂
o Personal touch: making eye contact, connect on a personal level, hugs and smiles are free! Getting to know and introduce students to each other and to teachers so they become part of our community.
o Advising students on classes, workshops or training related matters and sharing your yoga inspiration and experiences.
o Answering questions face to face, phone calls and emails.

Administrative & Tidiness
o Process registrations and purchases of students in MindBody.
o Making sure all client and teacher accounts in Mindbody make perfect sense; sign in, visits, payments and alerts on personal issues.
o Making sure the studio and lounge always looks, smells and feels like home.
o Swiffering the floors, attending to the yoga props, plants and fengshui items and toilets in the studio and rooms between classes.

Club Yagoy & Shop
o Making and serving coffee & our tea specials as well as our homemade bakes & meals in our Ayurvedic Lounge.
o Yoga Your Way also encourages students to continue their practice at home. As an expert of our shop you can set up our yogi’s with their own mat, props and tools.


Your Profile

– Representing Yagoy, you share our values and spread these as a host. A natural born host(ess) with a high standard in offering service & comfort, hospitality, customer experience and keeping calm in time and task challenging situations.
– You show a high level of people skills, asking questions, double checking and communicating.
– You have a keen passion for (and background/experience in) hospitality and finding solutions op optimize the experience of your guests while maintaining conduct that benefits both Yagoy and the students in the process.
– You have a particular interest in health & food and like to share your knowledge with our students in our cafe and behind the desk.
– It is an advantage if you studied the Ayurvedic lifestyle so you can help developing our Ayurvedic menu in Club Yagoy.
– You are good in prioritising tasks and accurate in the execution (because of our low margin for error).
– You are flexible in shifting from task to task, staying efficient while keeping a clear overview.
– You are very capable in operating autonomously but also fit well in teamwork.
– You speak and write fluent in English. Speaking and writing Dutch is an advantage.
– Computer skills that are required and will be taught during your first weeks:

Availability

Yagoy is looking for hosts who are able to cover different shifts, mornings, evenings and weekends. It’s important that you are comfortable with working flexible shifts besides your set schedule. Covering for colleagues, working in the evening or during holidays is considered normal. Yagoy is opened 7 days a week and 360 days a year over 2 locations. Preferably you are living in between both studios so you are available for both locations.
A minimum availability of about 15 – 20 hours per week is required, spread out in 4 or more shifts. Our hosting team is the long-term foundation of Yagoy’s day to day operations. Are you available for at least 6-12 months? Then we are looking for you!


In Return

Yagoy is run by a small and efficient group of people, so you’ll be working alongside its founders and other lovely colleagues. Our studios are where people chill away from home, in this nice environment you can also enjoy our awesome teachers and classes. Together we’ll make a schedule fitting to both our needs, with continuity and stability as goals. You will have a zero-hour contract with the wage depending on your age. Being a host at Yagoy you can join all classes for free (one class per worked shift) and enjoy a 50% discount on Club Yagoy purchases during your shift. You also enjoy a 10% discount on workshops, 15% at the giftshop and Club Yagoy outside your shifts. And 5% discount on teacher trainings!

Central role
o Handling, forwarding, guiding and staying on top of all emails coming in at info@yagoy.nl & office@yagoy.nl
o Managing hosting crew schedule and coverage: making hosting at Yagoy run smooth
o Solving customer issues
o Making sure hosting crew is up to date on any changes (via weekupdate mails)
o Inventory management and household (cleaning and building issues)

Administrative
o Handling monthly invoices (in and outgoing) and payments and keeping the overview for bookkeeper
o Teacher trainings administration

o Making sure contracts for teachers and crew and the HR calendar is up to date

Yagoy is looking for an office manager who is available to work 24 hours a week spread over 4 days, preferably every other day. You will also host a few classes during these hours to stay in touch with our community. It’s important you are comfortable with working in a start-up environment where we do almost everything in house.

Job Description

The General Lead carries responsibility over the daily operations of both Yagoy studio’s in terms of quality, attention to detail, continuity and growth. The role requiers a high sense of responsibility, organizational excellence, innovative and out of box thinking regarding communication and utilization of available resources, and a sincere sense of care for people & their wellbeing. After a thorough hands-on training period, the General Lead will take over the role of the current Founder and CEO over the span of her 3/4 month sabbatical end of this year.

Central role
o Make sure the teaching schedule at both studio’s is executed the best way we can offer and and improved through feedback loops and layers.
o Communicate with students, teachers and hosts regarding daily operations and make sure we optimize processes.
o Take care of all admin related tasks and issues around Yagoy’s activities.
o Optimze the exposure of Yagoy’s offerings and activities. Both on- and offline.
o Solve operational issues strategically, and create new opportunities to serve yoga for more people in this process.

o Daily search for the best matching class type, teacher and time combination on each studio schedule and adjust accordingly in time
o Make sure that in case of illness/absence of teachers, the schedule remains uninterrupted.

Community & quality
o Improve yagoy’s function as one unit by connecting people, and help our service improve in every detailed aspect by keeping a helicopter view.
o Get to know our crew, our guests and potential new teachers and crew and partners, and connect thde dots intuitively.
o Keep communicating the intention that has brought Yagoy to live and why we do what we do.

You will be fulfilling the role of the current founder/General Lead during her absence in the months of Oct-Jan. You ideally start on the 1st of August 2016.
